Alpha v0.2


Welcome to the first update to the Alpha version (v0.2)! I was hoping to get this out a bit earlier but I hit some delays. My aim is to release a new minor version every month or so and hopefully gather some player feedback. The game is getting a bit graphics intensive now so I'll start looking at releasing a downloadable version which should make it much more playable. There are also missing graphics in the web version due to compatibility issues with webGL. I hope you enjoy the latest update and please let me know what you think in the comments!

New features

New stat - Num of attacks

 Number of times the unit attacks with their basic attack. Rogues will start with one additional attack. This value can be increased with special status' and equipment when it is implemented. Each subsequent attack will do less damage than the last one so this stat suffers diminishing returns. Every attack can miss, be dodged and crit.

Reworked Abilities

Units will now have one randomly select ability from their race and one randomly select from their job. The main character can pick a third ability from all of the abilities of the units in the party. Main character race and job abilities are fixed.

Reworked Status Screen

Status screen hopefully looks a bit cleaner and makes a bit more sense

Added Intro Scene

Added a scene that plays at the start of a new game. This scene will give you 7 randomly selected units to form an initial team.

New Job

Spellcaster job was added. For now only the Necroweaver will have this job. Basic attack is a ranged magic missile. Spellcaster has more mana than other jobs and will gain mana and attack from the fortitude stat.


Bug Fixes

  • Map node context menu will no longer appear when the status screen is showing


Known Issues

  • Missing graphics, webGL issue
  • Context menu is sometimes shown behind the mouse cursor which makes it hard to read
  • Some button presses will cause certain scenes to load or reload. These are for debugging purposes and will be removed later.
  • Summoning a unit on top of another unit will prevent you from summoning that unit.
  • Health bars display over everything
  • action menu is positioned wrong
  • Clicking a unit in the left panel should move the camera to that unit, but the positioning is too high.
  • Camera isn't anchored so you can move it far away from the level
  • Clicking an empty flask slot will give you another one, this is intended for testing and will be removed later
